Why Choose Same-Day Crowns?
Why not? They are quick, effective, and as high-quality as traditional crowns. You don't need to add an extra appointment to your schedule, sit back and relax with your favorite show while we custom-craft your crown right here in our office.
Time-Efficient
Solution
With same-day crowns, you can have your tooth prepared, your crown designed and milled, and the final restoration placed all in a single appointment. This means less time off work, fewer trips to the dentist, and faster restoration of your smile.
Bespoke Fit and Color Match
Our advanced CEREC technology allows us to create a crown that matches the color and shape of your natural teeth. The digital scanning process customizes a precise fit, reducing the likelihood of adjustments for your total comfort and function.
No Temporary
Crowns
Traditional crown procedures require wearing a temporary crown while your permanent one is being made in a lab. With same-day crowns, you skip this step entirely, avoiding potential discomfort or inconvenience associated with temporary restorations.
At Winn Smiles, we use the latest CEREC technology, including the Sirona CEREC prime mill, to create your custom crown right in our office. This advanced system ensures precision, efficiency, and outstanding results.
Our dentists have extensive training and experience in same-day crown procedures. Their expertise, combined with our cutting-edge technology, ensures you receive the highest quality care and results.
We understand that dental procedures can cause anxiety for some patients. That's why we offer a range of comfort amenities, including blankets, neck pillows, and entertainment options, to help you relax during your appointment.
Our same-day crown service is part of our commitment to comprehensive, efficient care. We consider your overall oral health and aesthetic goals to ensure your new crown not only fixes the immediate issue but also contributes to your long-term dental health.
What To Expect
The same-day crown process typically takes about 90 minutes to two hours from start to finish. Here's what you can expect during your visit:
Examination and Preparation
We'll start by examining the tooth that needs the crown and preparing it for the restoration. This involves removing any decay and shaping the tooth to properly fit the crown.
Digital Impression
Using our CEREC 3D camera, we'll take a digital impression of your prepared tooth. This eliminates the need for messy traditional impressions and provides a highly accurate model for your crown.
Design and Milling
Your dentist will use the digital impression to design your crown, considering factors like the shape of your tooth, your bite, and the color of your surrounding teeth. Once the design is complete, it's sent to our in-office milling machine, which crafts your crown from a block of high-quality ceramic.
Placement and Adjustments
Once your crown is ready, we'll check the fit, make any necessary adjustments, and then permanently bond it to your tooth. We'll also check your bite to ensure your new crown feels comfortable and natural.
What Patients Are Saying
FAQs
Find answers to frequently asked questions from our patients.
How long do same-day crowns last?
Same-day crowns are just as durable as traditional crowns. With proper care, they can last 10-15 years or even longer. Regular dental check-ups and good oral hygiene practices will help ensure the longevity of your crown.
Are same-day crowns more expensive than traditional crowns?
Generally, the cost of same-day crowns is comparable to traditional crowns. While the technology used for same-day crowns is more advanced, you save on the cost of temporary crowns and additional appointments. We'll provide you with a detailed cost breakdown during your consultation.
Are same-day crowns suitable for everyone?
Same-day crowns are suitable for most patients who need a crown. However, there are some situations where a traditional crown might be recommended, such as for certain back teeth that endure heavy biting forces. We'll assess your specific case and recommend the best option for you.
How should I care for my same-day crown?
Care for your same-day crown just as you would your natural teeth. Brush twice a day, floss daily, and maintain regular dental check-ups. Avoid biting on very hard objects or using your teeth as tools to prevent damage to your crown. If you grind your teeth at night, we may recommend a night guard to protect your crown and other teeth.
