Why Choose Dental Implants?

Dental implants offer a permanent solution to missing teeth, improving both your oral health and quality of life. They look, feel, and function just like natural teeth, allowing you to eat your favorite foods and smile with confidence.

Improved Oral Health

Dental implants maintain your jaw bone structure, preventing bone loss associated with missing teeth. This preserves your youthful facial structure and keep your remaining natural teeth stable.

Natural Look and Feel

Dental implants are custom-designed to match your natural teeth in color, shape, and size. Once placed, they discreetly match your other teeth, giving you a seamless, beautiful smile.

Long-Lasting Solution

With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. Unlike dentures or bridges that may need replacement every 5-10 years, implants offer a durable, long-term solution to tooth loss.

What To Expect

Here's what you can expect during your treatment.

Initial Consultation

During your first visit, we'll conduct a comprehensive examination, including 3D imaging of your jaw. We'll discuss your goals, explain your options, and create a personalized treatment plan.

Implant Placement

In a surgical procedure, we'll place the implant into your jawbone. This is typically done under local anesthesia, with sedation available if desired. Recovery usually takes a few days to a week.

Healing and Integration

Over the next few months, your implant will integrate with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration. We'll monitor your progress during this time to ensure proper healing.

Restoration Placement

Once your implant has fully integrated, we'll place your custom-made restoration (crown, bridge, or denture) onto the implant. This completes your new smile!

Winn Smiles in Cleveland is great. Nice office and friendly staff. Very knowledgeable. My teeth have never felt cleaner. They are very thorough. They even have a person that takes time to talk to you about how much procedures cost. Would recommend to anyone needing a dentist.

FAQs

Find answers to frequently asked questions from our patients.

How long do dental implants last?

With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. The implant itself, which is placed in the jawbone, rarely needs to be replaced. The crown or restoration on top of the implant may need replacement after 10-15 years due to normal wear and tear.

Are dental implants painful?

Most patients report that the implant procedure is less uncomfortable than they expected. We use local anesthesia during the procedure, and offer sedation options for anxious patients. Post-procedure discomfort is typically minimal and can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication.

How do I care for my dental implants?

Caring for dental implants is similar to caring for your natural teeth. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups are essential. While implants can't get cavities, they can be affected by gum disease, so maintaining good oral hygiene is crucial for their longevity.

Am I a good candidate for dental implants?

Most adults with missing teeth are candidates for dental implants. However, factors like overall health, smoking habits, and bone density can affect suitability. During your consultation, we'll assess your individual case and discuss whether implants are the best option for you. We offer in-house bone grafting and sinus lifts (rebuilding your natural bone stability for implants) to help with candidacy.
