What Will Happen at My Dental Visit?
Before Your Appointment
After being greeted by our wonderful front desk staff, you will receive an informational New Patient packet to fill out. You’ll be answering questions about personal and contact information, along with any prior dental and medical history. Don’t forget to bring your driver’s license and insurance card – we’ll keep copies of these in your personal file. Our paperwork shouldn’t take any longer than fifteen minutes, and then it’s time to begin your appointment!
During Your Appointment
After taking a seat in your room, your dental hygienist will cover your chest with a sanitary cloth and begin an examination of your teeth using various ultrasonic tools. There should never be any pain while the tools are in use, but if there is, be sure to let your hygienist know. Expect a full oral health screening process, starting off with gently scraping the plaque and tartar from your teeth. After a thorough tooth polishing, your screening with end with a flossing.
Depending on which location you’re visiting, one of our Winn Smiles dentists will visit your room and discuss the health of your mouth and voice any concerns they may have. Feel free to ask any questions at this time.
After Your Appointment
Act on any follow-up care recommended by your dentist. We suggest scheduling regular cleaning appointments every six months, and you can do this over the phone or in person with one of our front desk staff members. Your dentist will let you know if you need any other appointments, such as a cavity fill in or a root canal. Never hesitate to call our office if you have any additional questions or concerns.
